Whether your tastes tend towards adventure, sports or nature, Fuerteventura is a paradise. Here, in a kingdom of silence and calm, golden dunes rise from the almost vegetationless flatlands, and tall lighthouses keep watch over the island's coastline; there are towering peaks, almost always crowned by clouds, and arid landscapes reminiscent of the world's great deserts as well as picturesque villages and havens for tourists. But, most of all, there are beaches: seemingly infinite sands that stretch far into the distance, offering wonderful conditions year round. To top it all, thanks to the local winds, it's one of the best locations in the world for windsurfing. What more could you ask for?
