There are only three species of mammals that inhabit the Timanfaya National Park: the black rat, the Canarian shrew and the rabbit. There are just two reptiles: the Haria lizard and the gecko. Among the birds, it's worth highlighting Cory's shearwater, the common kestrel  and the common turtle dove. Timanfaya is home to over 120 invertebrate species.
