Best time to visit

  • Year round as the Lanzarote climate is sub-desert and there is very little rain. The average annual temperature is 20ºC and temperatures vary greatly between day and night.

Tips

  • Access to Las Montañas de Fuego (Tel. 928 84 00 56/57) - "the fire mountains"  - is controlled from el Taro, which is the only entry point. An entrance fee of 6.60 € is payable.
  • On-foot guided tours are available (Littoral Trail and Tremasana Trail) setting out from the Mancha Blanca visitor centre.
  • To avoid the busiest periods of the day, it's best to visit first thing in the morning or between 1pm and 3pm.
  • Open air sports are prohibited
  • The collection of plants, animals and rocks is prohibited
  • The Littoral Trail is very difficult. It is imperative to wear suitable footwear and carry water and provisions. Any rubbish must be taken away with you.
