What to see

Mancha Blanca Visitor Centre
There are exhibitions on the volcanic phenomena of Timanfaya, the fauna, flora and coastline, with models, audio visual facilities, library, viewing platforms, shop and car park.

Montaña Rajada viewpoint
From a height of 350 metres, this viewpoint offers the finest panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. The most striking aspect of the view are the 25 impressive volvanic craters which make up the Montañas de Fuego - Timanfaya's "mountains of fire".

Islet of Hilario
At the heart of Timanfaya, an intense volcanic activity is still taking place. Just a few metres from the surface, temperatures reach 400º C which make it simple for stunning displays in which water disappears in a puff of steam or dry gorse  branches spontaneously combust.

Echadero de Camellos
A museum and information point located in an underground installation at the foot of the Timanfaya mountain. Visitors can obtain free information about the services available in the park as well as admiring exhibitions of the different volcanic materials and traditional agricultural implements. There is also information on many of the 71 species of lichen already catalogued in the park.
