The fauna is no less rich and varied than the flora: the wolf finds a shelter here, as do chamois, roe deer, wild boars, wild cats, badgers, martens and weasels. The brown bear disappeared from the area decades ago although, occasionally, some individuals may be seen in the park. As for birds, the grouse is the most emblematic. Other birds in the forest include the black woodpecker, the robin and the nuthatch. At the top may be the Alpine accentor, the Alpine sparrow, the red-billed chough and the yellow-billed chough.
Among the predators, the most noteworthy are the golden eagle and the griffon vulture. The slow worm, the long-tailed salamander, the Alpine newt, the grass frog, the midwife toad and common frog are among the reptiles and amphibians that live in the ponds and lakes of the park.
