Although the fauna of Garajonay does not offer a huge variety of species, at least 16 species of mammal have been identified, of which ten are bats. Birds of the area include the hawk, the Eurasion Woodcock and Bolle's pigeon and laurel pigeon - both endemic and endangered species.
