The main attraction of this park lies in its unique flora. In particular, the park is home to the largest and finest laurel forest remaining in the world. The forest is made up of species of laurel and bay, particularly the spectacular persea indica which flourishes in the ravines, as well as lindens along the valley floor and in shady places, the small-leaved holly with its bright red berries and the Canary laurel (apollonias barbujano). Alongside these trees grow a multitude of lichens, lianas, vines, and a number of species endemic to the Canary Isles.
