Getting there
La Palma can be reached by aeroplane or ferry from Tenerife. The main information centre for Caldera de Taburiente is the Visitor Centre located in the town of El Paso. The guaguas - local buses - from Santa Cruz de la Palma to Los Llanos de Aridane makes a stop at the car park. There is a small road  of 7 kilometres which leads from the Centre to La Cumbrecita viewpoint, the most popular site in the park.

If the visitor chooses the Roque de los Muchachos viewpoint, this can be reached from Santa Cruz de la Palma by way of the LP-1032 towards the Astrophysics Observatory or via Los Llanos by way of the LP-1 which then connects with the LP-113.

To reach the Brecitos viewpoint, you must start from Los Llanos de Aridane and follow the signs for the road to Los Barros. From the information kiosk to Brecitos there is a track of about 13 kilometres which can be followed either in private car or by  means of the off-road taxi service which leave from las Angustias.

For those visitors who enjoy group excursions, the island management organise visits by guagua to the different viewing platforms and also foot trails in the company of a guide.
