Between sky and ground, Cabañeros national park is home to over 200 types of vertebrate, many of them endangered species. Large mammals include the deer, the roe deer, and wild boar as well as fox, genet, lynx and otter. But it is the iconic silhouette of the black vulture which symbolises the park - home to the second largest colony in Spain - more than any other. The imperial eagle, white and black storks, golden eagles, Montagu's harrier and great and little bustards all nest in the park.
