In the times of Al-Andalus, Spain experienced one of the most brilliant periods of its history. The Alhambra in Granada, the most precious jewel of Hispano-Moorish architecture, Cordoba, capital of the wisdom of the Muslim West during the Caliphate period, and the tapestry of the white villages of Cadiz are all parts of the great cultural, religious, political and social heritage left by the Muslims during the eight centuries they were in the Iberian peninsula.
The Andalusi legacy trail is made up of four routes: the Caliphate trail, the Washington Irving trail, the Almoravids and Almohads trail and the Nasrid trail. Far more than a simple history lesson, these trails offer a fascinating opportunity to discover the sites linked to this amazing civilisation whose echo still reverberates all around southern Spain.
