From Denia to Pilar de la Horadada, the more than 218 kilometres of coastline that make up the coast of Alicante - "the white coast" - are a constant invitation to discover beaches with calm waters and golden sands, valuable wetlands and chains of sand dunes. More than this, though, they entice you with the promise of around 2,800 hours of sunshine a year.
The landscape of this Mediterranean coast is defined not only by the sea, but by the overlooking mountains and the valleys with their terraced crops and fields of palm trees that mark the skyline.
And there is much more: cities with centuries of history, beautiful coastal towns that retain the essence of the Mediterranean, small villages in the interior where you can still enjoy the local rural tradition, and the more modern and lively cities. The cove of Granadella, Calpe, Altea, Benidorm, the city of Alicante, the Palm Grove of Elche - a world heritage site - and the dunes of Guardamar are all essential stops on a tour of the Costa Blanca.
