Leaving behind the beautiful coast of Asturias, the steep and rugged coastline of the province of Lugo in Galicia offers beaches and cliffs carved by nature into capricious forms that embody all the magic of the Cantabrian Sea. The Mariña Lucense lies between Ribadeo and Viveiro and is home to some twenty beaches. Among these, As Catedrais is worth pointing out, a picture postcard beach that is one of the most visited and photographed spots on the Galician coast.
A journey through the mountains and beaches of the coast of Lugo should include a visit to the Sargadelos ceramic factory in the village of Cervo, the bonito-fishing boat at Burela; the cathedral at Mondoñedo, the monastery at Lourenza, the San Cibrao Maritime Museum, the fort at Fazouro and the medieval district of Viveiro.
