This is the most important park in Santiago de Compostela and borders the historic town offering a wonderful view of the city's most monumental face. The variety and condition of trees and ornamental shrubs, the collection of oaks, the splendid eucalyptus trees and the pergola formed by horse chestnuts in the Paseo de la Herradura (horse-shoe walk) have made it a favourite among both city residents and visitors. The local council offer a guided tour of the parks and gardens of the city.
