Teatro Real

Isabel II ordered the construction of this great opera house, where the most lavish opera premieres of the nineteenth century were staged. Since 1997, after a complete refurbishment, it continues to fulfil its original purpose. The excellent acoustics of the Italian auditorium, the magnificence of the central crystal chandelier and the size of the stage, are just some of the hallmarks of this elegant theatre, whose main façade faces the Plaza de Oriente and Plaza de Isabel II.
