Getting around

Valencia is a city on the flat, with an average temperature of just under 19ºC, which makes it a pleasant place to walk. Things in the centre are all relatively close together and there are plenty of car parks. Electronic display panels, located at the main city access points, show the parking spaces available. There is a bus service (tel. +34 963 15 85 15, www.emtvalencia.es) and taxis (Radio-Taxi: tel. +34 963 70 33 33; Tele-Taxi: tel. +34 963 57 13 13; Onda-Taxi: tel. +34 963 47 52 52; Valencia-Taxi: tel. +34 963 74 02 02).

For travel outside the immediate centre, the city has a metro service with five lines (tel. +34 900 46 10 46.www.metrovalencia.com). Another way of getting to know the city is the tourist bus, a double-decker which leaves from the Plaza de la Reina and makes a round trip journey lasting an hour and twenty minutes.

The Valencia Tourist Card is a season ticket allowing visitors to travel by bus, tram and metro. There is no limit to the number of journeys that can be made, and tickets are available for one, two or three days. The same card also gives a discount on museum entry and some other tourist attractions as well as some shops and restaurants (tel. +34 900 70 18 18. www.valenciatouristcard.com).
